Bookended by the highly approachable 18th and 19th Century repertoire stalwarts Mozart and virtuosic Sarasate, this program showcases the delightful and programatic, as well as the more avant garde styles, of later eras. Spoken narration from the stage offers historical and artistic context for easy appreciation and educational enrichment.

Ancient Dance
Taking its title from Toshio Hosokawa’s “Ancient Dance,” this program explores the relationship between our primeval creative impulses and the highest levels of elegance and sophisticated organization. It is perhaps only in art that these two seemingly contradictory elements of our humanity fall into a complete alignment.
