Hundreds of recorded violin lessons, available 24/7

Embracing technology and innovation in teaching, Mr. Peckins created Peckins Studio Online, an innovative website of recorded violin lessons which have been viewed thousands of times by students worldwide.  Hundreds of recorded lessons on technique, etudes, and repertoire let students review key concepts at home and maximize private lesson time.

For college/conservatory students, the recorded lectures in Mr. Peckins’ Violin Seminar offer a very special opportunity for advanced study. Individual lessons on advanced scale studies, sound production, vibrato, intonation, bow strokes, and some of the more specialized etudes are also of interest.

For intermediate students, the body of etude lessons will be most useful. Popular etude books by Dont, Kreutzer, and Kinsey have video lessons on well over 100 individual etudes: each video introduces the etude, demonstrates the technique, and explains how to practice. This allows students to practice effectively and efficiently between lessons, and to maximize progress.

For beginners, the early Suzuki books and beginner Kinsey etudes have full lessons, including play-throughs filmed in HD and clear practice instructions. For the first 48 Kinsey etudes, there is also a PDF to print out with practice instructions and goals for each etude. There are also lessons on set-up and basic exercises. These are especially helpful for parents who want to help their child practice, and need some review and reassurance about the correct techniques at home between lessons.

Mr. Peckins’ private students receive complimentary access, although violin students around the world have chosen to purchase a subscription.
