The Artist-audience Connection Reimagined…

“Music Speaks” is a narrated solo violin concert, combining live performance of music ranging from the ancient (Bach, Paganini, Hildegard von Bingen) to cutting edge modernism, interspersed with educational stories about the composers and music.

Each performance is approximately 75% music and 25% spoken word, the ideal balance to create an experience for audiences that is both musically engaging and intellectually stimulating. The core series of Peckins’ “Music Speaks” concerts in Cambridge, MA has been enthusiastically received by sold out audiences at every Lindsay Chapel performance since its launch in 2021, and he has toured and performed these programs extensively around New England.

With “a gift for capturing audiences’ attention with inspiring and educational stories about the music he performs,” Peckins’ “Music Speaks” recitals celebrate the violin’s long and compelling history, alongside its present day vibrancy, diversity, and relevance.
